World Cup Objective: Shooting under pressure, challenging for rebounds, goalkeeping, pressuring, thinking, fun... Divide your players into teams of two. For example: If you had 12 players participating, then you'd have 6 teams of 2. Grid size varies, extend the grid approximately 10 yards beyond each goalpost and another 18 yards away from the goal line (or use the penalty box for the grid). Each team chooses a different country they will represent. One team starts in goal and follows typical goalkeeping rules, yes, two players work together as goalkeepers in the same goal. The remaining teams will play against one another, attempting to score a goal the against the team of two goalkeepers. Rules: The goalies always start with the ball. After a team scores a goal, they are awarded a point and then they must switch places with the goalkeepers, becoming the new goalies. A point is awarded to the team in goal, each time they make a save without giving up a rebound, and or dropping the ball. A point is taken away from the team that last touches the ball prior to its going out of bounds. The first team to reach the indicated amount of points is the winner! Variations: size of goal, number of players on each team, limitations, goalkeepers earn a point for making save with or without a rebound, size of grid, number of points to win game, battle for 2nd and 3rd place... |
